Official rules and Terms & Conditions

Eligibility

The Epic Helps 2026 Roof Giveaway is open to eligible homeowners who:

  • are 18 years of age or older,
  • legally own the nominated property
  • occupy the nominated property as their primary residence; and
  • have a nominated property located within the Calgary Eligible Service Area, Claresholm Eligible Service Area, or Red Deer Eligible Service Area, as further defined in the Eligible Service Area section of these Official Rules.

Epic Roofing employees and members of their immediate family or household are not eligible to be nominated.
All eligibility requirements are subject to verification by Epic Roofing.

Nomination Period

Nominations open August 27, 2026 at 10:00 am MT and close September 27, 2026 at 11:59 pm MT. Entries received after the deadline, or entries that are incomplete, illegible, or cannot be processed, may be disqualified.

How to Nominate

Individuals may nominate yourself or another eligible homeowner by completing and submitting the official nomination form during the Nomination Period.

A person may nominate more than one homeowner, provided each nomination is for a different homeowner.

Multiple people may nominate the same homeowner. Multiple nominations are not votes and do not guarantee or proportionately increase the likelihood of selection. However, independent nominations may be considered as supporting context regarding the homeowner's circumstances, community support, demonstrated need, and the potential impact of receiving a new roof.

Epic reserves the right to combine multiple nominations relating to the same homeowner into a single nominee profile for review and selection purposes.

No Purchase Necessary

No purchase or payment is necessary to submit a nomination or participate in the Giveaway. Making a purchase from Epic Roofing will not improve a homeowner's likelihood of being selected.

Nomination Administration and Contact

By submitting a nomination, the person submitting it authorizes Epic to use the information provided for purposes reasonably necessary to administer the Giveaway, including reviewing the nomination, evaluating eligibility and project feasibility, and communicating regarding the nomination.

Where a person nominates another homeowner, Epic may contact the nominated homeowner directly to confirm their interest in participating and, if required, obtain additional information or consent.

Submitting a nomination on behalf of another homeowner does not authorize Epic to publicly use that homeowner's name, image, likeness, story, or other identifiable personal information. Any consent required for public use will be obtained directly from the homeowner before that information is made public.

How the Recipient Is Selected

After the Nomination Period closes, eligible nominations will be reviewed according to their designated service area:

  • Calgary Eligible Service Area
  • Claresholm Eligible Service Area
  • Red Deer Eligible Service Area

A designated Epic committee will review eligible nominees within each service area using established selection criteria, which may include:

  • Demonstrated homeowner need;
  • Potential impact of receiving a new roof;
  • Property and project suitability;
  • The homeowners circumstances and community impact; and
  • Compliance with the Giveaway eligibility requirements.

The committee may identify up to three potential finalists from each eligible service area.

Before advancing, potential finalists may be required to complete eligibility verification and a property or project-feasibility review.

Verified finalists may then be presented to Epic employees for an internal vote. Finalists will be considered within their respective service areas, with the intent of selecting one recipient from each eligible service area.

Following the internal vote, Epic will identify one proposed recipient from the Calgary Eligible Service Area, one proposed recipient from the Claresholm Eligible Service Area, and one proposed recipient from the Red Deer Eligible Service Area.

Final selection remains subject to verification of voting results, continued eligibility, property and project feasibility, completion of any required inspection or documentation, and final committee confirmation.

Nomination volume and the internal employee vote are not public votes and do not create any entitlement to receive the prize.

Prize Details

Three eligible homeowners will each receive a residential roof replacement supplied and installed by Epic Roofing, subject to the scope and limitations described in these Official Rules.

The three prizes are intended to be awarded as follows:

  • one roof replacement to an eligible homeowner within the Calgary Eligible Service Area;
  • one roof replacement to an eligible homeowner within the Claresholm Eligible Service Area; and
  • one roof replacement to an eligible homeowner within the Red Deer Eligible Service Area.

The roofing system, materials, components and product selections for each project will be determined by Epic based on the selected property, project requirements, product suitability and availability. Where colour options are available, each homeowner may select from the standard options approved by Epic for their project.

Each prize cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, transferred to another person or property, or applied as a credit toward another Epic Roofing service. Each prize must be accepted as awarded and is subject to the final project scope determined by Epic following inspection and evaluation of the selected property.

If Epic determines that no eligible and suitable recipient can be confirmed within a designated service area, Epic may, at its discretion and subject to applicable law, select an additional eligible recipient from another designated service area.

Roofing Scope

Every home and roofing system is different. The exact materials, components, accessories, ventilation, flashing, underlayment, and other work included in the roof replacement will be determined by Epic following an inspection and evaluation of the selected property.

Additional Repairs & Decking

The condition of roof decking and any additional repair requirements will be evaluated as part of the property inspection and project planning process.

Unless specifically approved by Epic as part of the awarded project, the Giveaway does not automatically include:

  • structural repairs;
  • extensive decking replacement;
  • mold or hazardous-material identification, testing, removal or remediation;
  • insulation;
  • gutters or downspouts;
  • skylight replacement or repair;
  • work unrelated to the approved roofing scope; or
  • other improvements Epic determines are outside the reasonable scope of the Giveaway.

If conditions are discovered that materially affect the safety, feasibility or scope of the project, Epic will determine whether the project can reasonably proceed.

Property Inspection and Project Feasibility

Epic reserves the right to inspect the nominated property before confirming the selected recipient. The inspection may include roof condition, decking, structural condition, safety, accessibility, ownership, existing materials, and overall project feasibility. A property may be deemed ineligible if Epic determines that the project cannot be safely or reasonably completed within the intended scope of the Giveaway.

Eligibility Verification

Epic may request information reasonably necessary to confirm eligibility, including proof of age, government-issued identification, proof of property ownership, confirmation of primary residence, photographs, property information, or other relevant documentation.

Epic may also require access to the property for inspection or project evaluation.

The selected recipient must respond to Epic and complete required verification within 15 calendar days of initial notification, unless Epic provides otherwise in writing.

Failure to respond, provide required documentation, permit a required inspection, or otherwise complete verification may result in disqualification and the selection of another eligible recipient.

Eligible Service Area

To be geographically eligible for the 2026 Epic Helps Roof Giveaway, the nominated property must be physically located within one of the following designated service areas:

  • Calgary Eligible Service Area
    Within a 70 km straight-line radius of the Calgary Tower in downtown Calgary
  • Claresholm Eligible Service Area
    Within a 30 km straight-line radius of IGA Claresholm, Alberta
  • Red Deer Eligible Service Area
    Within a 50 km straight-line radius of Red Deer City Hall

Distance is determined based on the physical location of the nominated property and is measured as a straight-line geographic distance, not driving distance.

Properties located near the boundary of either eligible service area may be subject to address and location verification by Epic.

Epic's determination of whether a nominated property falls within an eligible service area will be final, subject to applicable law.

Privacy

Information collected through the nomination process will be used for purposes related to administering the Giveaway, including reviewing nominations, evaluating nominees, verifying eligibility and project feasibility, contacting nominators and nominated homeowners, and administering the prize.

Nomination submissions will initially be reviewed privately.

Epic will not publicly disclose personal contact information, detailed financial information, or other confidential information collected solely for Giveaway administration, except where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

Where a nomination is submitted on behalf of another homeowner, Epic may contact that homeowner directly before advancing the nomination or publicly sharing identifiable information about them.

Project Photography & Promotion

As part of accepting the prize, the selected recipient may be required to complete Epic's applicable prize acceptance, project documentation and publicity release.

Subject to that consent and applicable law, Epic may photograph, film and otherwise document the roofing project and may use approved content relating to the recipient and completed project, including the recipient's name, image, story and project photographs or video, through Epic Roofing and Epic Helps websites, social media, advertising, public relations and other promotional materials.

Where the selected homeowner was nominated by another person, any required consent for public use of the homeowner's name, image, story or likeness will be obtained directly from the homeowner.

Marketing Communications

Consent to receive marketing communications from Epic Roofing is optional and is not required to submit a nomination, participate in the Giveaway, advance as a finalist, or receive the prize.

Where a participant separately provides marketing consent, Epic may send that individual news, promotions, community updates, special offers and other marketing communications in accordance with the consent provided and applicable law.

Participants may withdraw their marketing consent in accordance with the instructions provided in those communications.

Disqualification

Epic may disqualify a nomination or nominee where, in Epic's reasonable determination:

  • eligibility requirements are not met;
  • false, misleading or materially inaccurate information has been provided;
  • required information or documentation cannot be provided or verified;
  • the nominated property is outside the eligible service area;
  • the property or roofing project is unsuitable or cannot reasonably be completed within the Giveaway scope;
  • a required property inspection or verification process is refused;
  • the nomination is late, incomplete, fraudulent or otherwise invalid;
  • there is evidence of manipulation, abuse or interference with the nomination or selection process; or
  • the participant or nominee otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules.
Recipient Notification and Acceptance

Epic will contact the selected homeowner privately using the contact information available through the nomination and verification process.

Each selected homeowner must satisfy all final eligibility requirements and complete any required acceptance, project or release documentation before being publicly announced as a recipient.

Epic will not publicly announce a recipient until the homeowner has accepted the prize and Epic has completed the required final verification.

If a selected homeowner cannot be contacted, declines the prize, does not complete the required verification or documentation within the applicable timeframe, or is subsequently determined to be ineligible, Epic may select another eligible recipient from the same designated service area.

If no eligible and suitable replacement recipient can be confirmed within that service area, Epic reserves the right, subject to the Official Rules and applicable law, to determine how the applicable prize will be awarded.

Installation

The installation date will be arranged directly with the selected homeowner after the final project scope has been established.

Installation timing will depend on factors including project requirements, weather, material availability, permitting or regulatory requirements, site conditions, safety considerations and Epic's production schedule.

Epic does not guarantee installation by a specific date.

Changes or Cancellation to the Giveaway

Epic Roofing reserves the right, where reasonably necessary and permitted by applicable law, to modify, extend, suspend or terminate the Giveaway if circumstances beyond Epic's reasonable control affect its fairness, safety, integrity, administration or operation.

Where practical, Epic will communicate material changes through the Giveaway website or other appropriate channels.

General Conditions

Participation in the Giveaway constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules.Epic's decisions regarding eligibility, nominee review, project feasibility, finalist selection, verification and administration of the Giveaway are final, subject to applicable law.
